Emma + Dean | St. Augustine Engagement Session

We're excited to share the heartwarming love story of Emma and Dean. Their journey began in the halls of high school, where they first crossed paths in the world of music. She, with her flute, and he, with his trumpet, shared not only a love for music but also a circle of mutual friends. Yet, it wasn't until later in high school that their friendship began to blossom into something more.

Emma harbored a secret crush on Dean for years, captivated not only by his humor and kindness but also by his good looks. Despite her feelings, she kept them hidden, cherishing their friendship above all else. But then, Just before Emma started at Auburn, where Dean was already a student, he had a change of heart and asked her out on their first date. Better late than never, Dean's grateful he realized how much Emma meant to him before any other college guys could swoop in.

As proud Auburn alums, they shared a love for the Tigers and the thrill of cheering them on in various sports. Their mutual passion for the Jacksonville Jaguars only added to their shared excitement. Together, they explored the vibrant city of Tampa, trying out new restaurants and browsing through outdoor markets on weekends.

"He is the funniest person I know, he can always make me laugh, even when I don't want to. He cares so deeply about everyone in his life and wants everyone to be happy." -Emma

Dean, in turn, admires Emma's beauty, humor, and easy-going nature.

Their love story hasn't been without its challenges. Over the past seven years, they've navigated through college, new jobs, medical school, long-distance, and even a pandemic. Yet, through it all, their love has only grown stronger, a testament to their unwavering commitment to each other.

The proposal was a complete surprise orchestrated by Dean, Emma's sister Maggie, and both of their parents. Under the guise of driving to St. Augustine to meet Dean's brother and sister-in-law for dinner, Dean intentionally took Emma in the wrong direction. Emma, easily distracted, had no idea what was happening. Suddenly, Dean pulled into a park, claiming he had forgotten something, and quickly exited the car. Confused, Emma followed him out. As they walked to "THE spot," Emma realized what was about to happen. The moment turned into the easiest "YES" of Emma's life!

So when it came time to choose their engagement session location, tt only seemed fitting to have their session in St. Augustine, the very place where Dean proposed and where they will soon have their wedding.

We began their engagement session through the historic streets of St. Augustine, wandering along cobblestone alleys lined with charming shops and cafes. The old-world charm provided the perfect backdrop for their photos. Next, we headed to the iconic Bridge of Lions, where Emma and Dean shared sweet glances and tender embraces against the backdrop of the sparkling bay. The sunlight danced on the water, adding a touch of magic to their images.

Our next stop was the Lightner Museum, their wedding venue. As they stood hand in hand in front of the grand building, you could feel the excitement radiating from them. Their smiles were contagious as they envisioned their future together in this beautiful place. After capturing the elegance of the museum, Emma and Dean changed into a more casual outfit, ready for a stroll along Vilano Beach. The soft sand beneath their feet and the gentle sea breeze provided a relaxed atmosphere for them to unwind and enjoy each other's company.

Throughout the session, Emma and Dean's love for each other was evident in every laugh, every stolen glance, and every touch. They were completely at ease in front of the camera, allowing their genuine connection to shine through. We had such a great time together, exploring different locations and creating memories that we will cherish for a lifetime. Emma and Dean are not only a beautiful couple but also incredibly sweet and genuine individuals.

As a photographer, it's moments like these that remind us why we love what I do. Capturing love stories like Emma and Dean's is truly a privilege, and we can't wait to witness their wedding day, surrounded by the same love and joy that filled their engagement session.
