The beauty of every love story is that they are all unique to the couple. And Laura and Taylor’s journey to forever is a beautiful blend of chance encounters, mutual love for hockey, and timing that could only be described as, well, "theirs."
Picture this: Taylor, a die-hard hockey fan, swiping through Hinge notices Laura's profile screaming Canadian vibes. And guess what? That very night, Canada’s hockey team took a beating from the United States. Taylor, thinking it's a golden opportunity to tease a Canadian about a loss, thought it was the perfect chance for a first date. But he never imagined what would happen next…Laura was as crazy about hockey as he was! She even works for a hockey team!!!
Their first date was a perfect display of their personalities. Taylor, Mr. Punctual, arrived a good half-hour early. Laura, on the other hand, strolled in fashionably five minutes late. But as soon as they met, Taylor welcomed her with a glass of wine and a big smile, setting the stage for what would be a six-hour conversation.
These two hit it off so much that they missed the call telling them their table was ready. Three bars, an array of tacos, and a few hours later, Taylor realized he’d only managed to sneak in a few words during the entire date. And you know what? He couldn’t wait for a second one! Laura, on the other hand, was shocked that Taylor willingly let her talk for six whole hours.
“I was definitely attracted to his smile at first. He smiles with his entire handsome face and it's contagious. I was extremely impressed when he showed up early to our first date and had a glass of wine waiting for me when I arrived - it was my first glimpse of him constantly acting with me in mind. He also is the type of person who listens to understand you, rather than listening to respond. Which I got to learn on our very first date because he let me talk the entire time.”
“She talked my ear off for hours about chasing her dreams and all the things she had planned for this life. Looking into those deep brown eyes, beautiful smile while she talked about her dreams just made me want to be part of her life.”
Now, let’s chat about the proposal. Taylor pulled a surprise of a lifetime! They planned a trip to Hershey, PA, where both families would finally meet. Recently having discussions about their new home and postponing the ring, Laura thought the proposal was way off the radar. But boy, was she in for a shock!
As the sun dipped on the Hershey Hotel's balcony, Taylor nervously stumbled through a heartfelt speech. But Laura, well, she was so taken aback that she zoned out for a moment, forgetting she had to respond to the big question! Cue the nudge to bring her back to reality, and of course, she said yes!
Their families, bubbling with excitement and love, arrived soon after, ready to celebrate the couple's surprise engagement. It marked the beginning of a new chapter filled with shared dreams, laughter, and endless adventures.
Laura + Taylor are planning their wedding in St. Augustine, and what better way to celebrate their love than with an engagement photoshoot in the historic streets.
St. Augustine is full of beautiful picturesque locations. You have Magnolia ave which is a street lined with majestic oak trees whose branches hang over the paved road. You also have the charming cobblestone alleys, one of which is the oldest street in America!! And we took pictures on that very street, Aviles Street. And last but certainly not least, you have the beautiful bay. We were able to explore all of these spots while hanging out and getting to know Laura and Taylor. We had such a great time together.
But wait, they didn't just show up with big smiles and lovey-dovey gazes. Nope, they brought their hockey jerseys along! Laura flaunted her Canadian pride, while Taylor stood tall in his Team USA colors. It was like a hockey faceoff, but with love in the air. Oh! And they also brought their sweet pup Marty. You gotta see the pictures on Magnolia Ave with Marty. Talk about picture perfect family!
