LYNELLE + CURTIS| AMELIA ISLAND ENGAGEMENT SESSION
There’s just something so special about couples like Lynelle and Curtis—the kind that feels like their story belongs in a rom-com. They met like a lot of people do these days, with a lucky swipe on a dating app, but from the very beginning, it was obvious that their connection was anything but ordinary.
They first met at a local tavern, hanging out by the fireside lounge. The warm glow of the fire matched how they instantly clicked, chatting for hours and losing track of time. According to Lynelle and Curtis, their relationship took off like a rocket that very night.
Both Lynelle and Curtis knew early on that their connection was something special. By the second or third date, they were inseparable, talking all day, every day, and finding excuses to spend as much time together as possible. It was evident to both of them that this relationship was meant to be something serious and lasting.
In their first year together, Lynelle and Curtis explored an impressive array of destinations: the Smoky Mountains, Medora, Fargo, Minneapolis, Orlando, and even England! Their shared love of travel and discovery became a defining feature of their relationship. They are always dreaming of where to explore next, and I have no doubt their journey will lead them to even more incredible places.
March of 2023, Curtis popped the big question during their first trip to Orlando to meet his family. They spent the day at the gorgeous Leu Botanical Gardens, which felt like something out of a fairy tale. After wandering through all the beautiful greenery, they found a bench to sit and talk. Curtis opened up about how much their relationship meant to him and how he’d known from the beginning that this was it for him. Then, he asked Lynelle to marry him. And of course, she said yes!
Lynelle and Curtis call North Dakota home, but they chose the sunshine and charm of Florida for their wedding. We were thrilled to photograph their engagement session in Amelia Island when they came to town. But as luck would have it, the weekend of their visit brought nothing but rain.
Many couples might have felt disappointed, but not Lynelle and Curtis. Their resilient and positive spirits shone through as they embraced the rainy weather with smiles and enthusiasm. Armed with adorable clear umbrellas, we created romantic and whimsical shots under the raindrops. We also found cozy covered spots in downtown Amelia to capture more intimate moments. Despite the weather, their love radiated in every photo, making the session an unforgettable experience for all of us.
Watching them together, it was so clear how perfect they are for each other. The whole time, they were so thoughtful of one another, sharing smiles, laughs, and little moments that just made you feel their connection. Seeing them interact made us smile the entire session—their love is just that infectious.
“He loves me very well. He is very caring, compassionate, and always supportive.”
“She is genuinely the most positive and caring person that I have ever met.”
Now, as Lynelle and Curtis prepare to say "I do" in Amelia Island, we can't wait to celebrate with them under (hopefully!) beautiful clear skies. Their ability to embrace life's unpredictabilities with grace and joy is a testament to the strength of their bond. It’s an honor to witness and document this next chapter of their love story.
Lynelle + Curtis, We hope you get to keep traveling the world, experiencing all the beauty this life has to offer, and spreading your joy to everyone you meet. Thank you for trusting us with your wedding memories! We can’t wait to celebrate you and witness you become husband and wife. See you soon!
xoxo,
Kristina + Jerico
