J+K=WOJ Series |Jerico|
Since this one is introducing you to Jerico, it would only make sense for him to be the author.
Wow it feels nice to write something that isn't in APA style! My name is Jerico Warner, I was born in Olongapo, Philippines. I didn't live there for very long. My dad was civil service so we moved quite often. By the time i was 12 we moved 5 times. When I was 6 months old, we moved to San Deigo, California. Half way through kindergarten we moved to Guam, and half way through first grade we moved to Japan. I attended 2nd-5th grade in Silverdale, Washington. Then we made our final move to Jacksonville, Florida where I attended 6-12th grade. Jacksonville was now home.
After high school, I registered for classed at FSCJ but dropped out half way through my first semester. College just wasn't for me, I thought. I was working full time at Adventure Landing and realized this wasn't what i wanted for my life. My best friend and I decided to join the Marine Corp. I didn't realize this was going to be the biggest decision of my life. At the time, I didn't realize how many sacrifices I would be making in the next 5 years. but I signed the contract and went off to boot camp weighing 190 pounds. At boot camp graduation, Kristina barely recognized me, I was down to 160 pounds!
The military wasn't easy, especially having to go on a 7 month deployment when my son was only 6 week old. But I don't regret it at all. The military taught me many valuable things but my biggest take away was to believe in yourself but you can accomplish anything if you just put out the effort.

After 5 years of service, we decided I wouldn't re-enlist. We made the move back to Jacksonville so Kai can be around his family. It was nice to be a civilian again. I didn't waste any time. I signed back up for classes at FSCJ and was now determined to get my degree. Not only was I able to finish my AA in a year but I was able to get my 1.5 GPA up to a 3.5 and was placed on the Dean's list for academic excellence. I'm currently working on getting my bachelor's degree in Business and will be at UNF next year for grad school.
My greatest achievement isn't the military or school. My greatest achievement in life is my son Malakai Harper Warner. Kristina wanted to name him Jr. and it would have made sense had I known he would be an exact copy of me (just look at the pictures below). I joke around with him calling him "Junior" and he thinks it's pretty funny.
My typical day looks something like this:
7:30am Kai wakes me up and is "starving," as if I have never fed him before. Even though he eats every 10 minutes throughout the day up until bed time. Even then he tries to sneak in a quick snack.
9:00am Drop kai off at school
9:35-11:30am Stop by the library (because everyone should spend time reading everyday), go to the gym,do some homework, pick up Kai.
12:30-3:00pm Help Kai with his homework, take him outside, feed him again, maybe squeeze in some photo editing or web site building.
3:30-6:00pm Do majority of my school work (since Kristina is home from work), more editing, helping kristina with dinner.
6:30-9:00pm Dinner and family time.
9:30pm -2:00am Is overtime. I use this time to read a book (currently reading Gary Vaynerchuk's - The Thank You Economy - I definitely recommend everyone to read it), research different type of products, learn about ways to help my business grow, study different types of photography techniques, and finish up any left over homework. Some people like to wake up early to get a head start. I like to get mine in late at night. #nosleep

Last year we were able to visit Seattle, Denver, Atlanta, Clearwater & Disney World. Here's a few pictures from our trips.
I recently renewed my passport and can't wait to use it! We are thinking about going to Iceland this year. Traveling doesn't have to be expensive. If you think about it, majority of the money spent on vacation is on food. When we travel, we go to a local grocery store and get snacks that can keep us full like string cheese, almonds, breakfast bars/protein bars, beef jerky, fruits, and veggies that way we only eat out once a day. And when we do eat out, we usually eat at a local mom & pop shop. I encourage everyone to travel, to invest in experiences, create and capture memories that you will cherish forever.
