Wendel + Diana Engagement | St. Augustine, Florida
Here in Florida, it’s FINALLY feeling like fall! Woo-hoo! Im one of those that gets excited about weather, wearing closed toe shoes and sharing beautiful love stories. =) I am so excited to share this engagement session with you all today because today’s beautiful couple is getting married THIS WEEKEND!!!!! And unlike any other couple, they are going to have two weddings. YEP, you heard me correctly. Diana is half Cambodian, so they are having a traditional Cambodian wedding on Friday and a traditional “American” wedding on Saturday! How cool is that?! SUPER excited!
Jerico has actually known Wendel since middle school… and unfortunately, that was a loooong time ago, probably about 17 years ago! So yeah, they go way back! Jerico + Wendel actually used to take pictures of their cars together. They have kept in touch and every time they grabbed lunch or anything, they would just talk building apps, cars or camera gear, you know the typical guy talk. But one time, Wendel mentioned to Jerico, you know super cazh (short for casual- yeah im trying to be cool), “I’m gonna propose soon and would love for you to be our photographer.” You see, typically I, Kristina, handle all, and I mean ALL, of the communication so when Jerico, a few days later casually drops this bit of information “oh yeah, Wendel wants us to be their photographer” I had a million questions! “HE’S ENGAGED?!?” was def the first followed by “when, how and where did he propose?” all to which Jerico said ”hmm I’m not sure, we’re going to grab dinner together some time next week.” I’ve known Wendel since high school so I was super excited for him but I was secretly extra excited to meet his fiancé!
The very first thing I noticed about Diana was her radiant smile. I mean she lights up the room and man do I wish I had a recording of her laugh, it’s the absolute BEST! And Wendel sure does know how to really make her laugh, it’s the sweetest! My favorite thing about Wendel + Diana is they are SUCH a fun loving couple! They actually work for the same company so they are able to have lunch together almost daily. It’s one of those little details that was mentioned that I’ll never forget. I think it’s so cool that in the middle of their busy work day, they are able to stop what they are working on, see each other and share a meal together. I don’t know, I might be the only one that thinks thats special but I really do think it’s unique and special quality time.
Another thing they do together is travel. Diana with her itinerary and Wendel with his camera. Together, they are unstoppable. =) They are actually going on a cruise around Europe for their honeymoon and I CAN’T wait to hear all the amazing stories and see all the beautiful pictures of food… haha you guys gotta get in some of those pictures too you know!
When it came time to plan for their engagement session, Diana and Wendel wanted to re-create their first date which was renting a scooter in St. Augustine, Florida. We were all about it and then Diana sweetly asked “do you think my dogs can join for a few pictures?” “ummm OF COURSE!!!” Guys, she has two, TWO grogeous Australian Shepherds!!! They are the cutest! Thank you, Mom (Diana’s mom), for making this happen! Thank you for bringing Diesel and Ivey all the way to St. Augustine! We couldn’t have done it without you!
So we started off with the cute scooter in St, Augustine and then drove down to Washington Oaks Garden and finished up at sunset at the beach. Hanging out with these two is a blast! Whenever we’re with them, my cheeks end up hurting because Diana’s brilliant quirky “one-liners” (she’s quick with them!) have me cracking up!
Diana and Wendel, we can’t wait to celebrate with you two at both of your weddings! It’s gonna be AMAZING. I know it! Can’t it be tomorrow already?!? See you soon!!!
