Historic Fernandina Beach Engagement Session | Emily + Brad | Fernandina Beach, Florida
We got another great love story for you today. Brad and Emily were actually friends first for quite some time. They attend the same church and used to hang out in the same group of people from church. They both are very passionate about serving God and have always decided to put God first in their relationship. In fact, when Brad realized he had feelings beyond friendship for Emily, he went to his campus pastor to ask for advice and the advice he was given was to wait. to not pursue her right now. to pray. wait and pray. its much harder than it sounds. in fact, the pastor was surprised and proud when brad came back to him in TWO months and told him that after waiting and praying, he still had feelings for her. At this point, the pastor gave the okay for the two to start dating. Talk about patience, disciple and self control! But wait, that’s not all! Are you ready for this?!? their first kiss will be at their ceremony!! We admire you! I can honestly say, of all the weddings we have shot, this is the first that their actual first kiss is their first kiss as husband and wife!
After 8 months of dating, Brad proposed in front of their friends and family after a romantic sailboat ride in Amelia Island.
Once I heard their proposal story, I suggested we do their engagement session in Amelia island/ Fernandina Beach. Emily is very “artsy” so I thought the historic downtown and the beautiful beach would provide exactly what they wanted. We started in the historic downtown, then headed over to Fort Clinch State Park to get those beautiful trees. We literally stood in the middle of the street dodging cars. 🚘 we stayed safe and it was totally worth it. We finished the session off at the beach where we were able to catch a stunning sunset and end the session with a prayer for their future.
Emily + Brad, we are so excited for your wedding, probably almost as much as you are! We know its going to be perfect and everything you’ve ever dreamed of. We are honored you chose us to be a part of it. No matter what happens these last couple of days before your wedding, don’t loose sight of the fact that you are marrying your best friend!
