ANDREW + SARAH ENGAGEMENT SESSION | ST. AUGUSTINE, FLORIDA| RAVINE GARDENS, PALATKA, FLORIDA
Hello friends! I know, i know! It's been a while since I've last blogged, I'm so sorry! Im working on it, I promise!! I am dedicating more time to my blogs and i NEED to catch up before wedding season is in full effect!
It's DEFINITELY engagement season for us! I am so happy for all of our lovely couples that have trusted us with their weddings! I can't help but say #weLOVEourjob!
One of the best things about being a wedding photographer is that you get to know so many amazing people and make life long friendships. BUT, what's even better is when you get to photograph your beautiful friends! We've known Andrew, WHOA, it's still a little weird to call him that. Side story: We've known ANDREW for over 5 years but if you would have asked me what his first name is, I honestly would not be able to tell you! If you know him, he's "Lamb". When you have a cool last name like that, why would you go by anything else?! Sarah actually told me that she is the only one, other than his family members, that calls him by his first name and I think that is so sweet. So to keep his name sacred, we're gonna call him Lamb from here on out.
Sarah texted me before the engagement session and let me know that their sweet fur baby, Waylon, will be joining us. She mentioned she wanted to make a sign for Waylon to wear and I immediately started giving her ideas of what to write on the sign. I mentioned "Mama said YES!", the wedding date, "Save the Date" you know, the typical things you find on pinterest to which she casually responds with " I was thinking more like "FINALLY" lol" OH.MY.GOSH., Sarah, I love you! That made me laugh so hard! Again, if you know these two, you know that FINALLY fits PERFECTLY!!! Sarah and Lamb have been dating exclusively for 5 years now and all of their friends have been wondering when he was going to ask her to marry him! It was clear to all of us that they were perfect together.
Before I make Lamb look bad, he might have waiting a while to propose, but boy did he do it RIGHT! They were out in Colorado visiting her dad. He picked the perfect ring, found a trail, HIRED A LOCAL PHOTOGRAPHER ( that he never met, and since it was a surprise proposal, I'm surprised the photographer found them), and he proposed on top of a breath taking mountain!! MAJOR props to you, Lamb!
Once they got engaged, Sarah immediately told me she had to have us photograph the wedding and we were so honored!! It was time to start thinking about where we should do their engagement session ( we offer complimentary engagement sessions with all of our wedding packages). I always try to find locations that are either sentimental to our couple or reflects their love story. I offered St. Augustine since every corner of Historic downtown is so picturesque. Then, Sarah said they recently went on a hike at Ravine Gardens State park and asked if we've ever been there. We haven't, but we looked at some pictures she sent me and were excited to visit a new park! We will definitely be going back there!
We had such a great time at the engagement session, Lamb and Sarah! You guys made modeling look so easy! From walking the streets of St. Augustine to the gorgeous sun flares at Ravine Gardens ( YES! those were 100% REALL)! And thank you to Mr. Waylon! He was so great and I swear he is totally smiling in that picture!!!
We CAN'T wait for your wedding in....COLORADO!!!! It's gonna be soooooo beautiful!!! (you guessed it, I'm squealing as I'm typing this) =) If it were up to me, we would be taking pictures every day we are in Colorado! ahhh I can't wait!
