JEFF + CALLIE WEDDING| NOCATEE CROSSWATER HALL| JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA
Jeff + Callie are one of those couples that you just feel their love for one another when you're around them. When Jeff looks at Callie, you can see the love he has for her.
As the wedding day approached, usual last minute issues arose that that Jeff & Callie had to deal with. You know the typical, Uncle Bob's flight got delayed, the groomsmen's gifts haven't been delivered yet, or last minute details like the programs still haven't been made.
HOWEVER, Jeff & Callie had to deal with something MUCH bigger! They had hurricane Irma coming their way and they didn't know what to do.
The day before the wedding, again let me say, the DAY before the wedding, all news reporters were informing us that Hurricane Irma is coming towards Jacksonville and could either hit as a Category 3 or she could die down to a Category 1. This news frightened some people and unfortunately delayed most flights into Jacksonville. Callie and Jeff were receiving calls left and right apologizing that they will not be able to make it to the wedding due to evacuations.
Vendors started calling, wondering if the wedding is going to be rescheduled due to the storm. The venue gave Callie the option to reschedule. This is one situation NO bride should ever be put in. But a decision had to be made. Just a few hours before rehearsal dinner, Callie and Jeff made the final call that the wedding is going as planned. Nothing changes.
Saturday, September 9, 2017 arrives. As soon as we woke up we ran outside to see the weather. Sure it was cloudy but our prayers have been heard! The forecast wasn't perfect but it definitely wasn't a Category 3 hurricane coming our way. There was still a high chance of rain (90% most of the day) but I refused to believe it. Is it weird that weather makes me smile?!
We arrived to the venue, Nocatee Crosswater Hall, and there was the bride and all of her gorgeous bridesmaids getting all dolled up. Laughter filled the room.
The flowers arrived.
The cake was delivered.
It drizzled.
The rain stopped.
All was well.
Can I tell you that this wedding was a miracle. Everything came together so beautifully!
Callie was ready, the guests arrived, the music began to play. The bridal party made their way down the aisle. Everyone stood up and turned to see Callie.
Jeff, the groom, finally got to see his bride walk towards him, and he couldn't hold back the tears ( sorry Jeff, but this is something to be proud of). The bridesmaids were the first to witness the tears, so naturally, they began to cry as well. Callie heard him cry but tried her hardest not look up and see him because she knew she would start to cry as well. But she couldn't help it. She looked up and lost it as well. Never have I ever witnessed so many emotions! I don't think there was a dry eye in the building!
Nothing else mattered at that moment. Yes, it was unfortunate that a lot of friends and family couldn't make it to the wedding, but there was no doubt in their minds that this was the BEST day of their lives. The day they became Mr. and Mrs. Dagdag!!!
Looking at the pictures, you would never think there was a hurricane in the midst. Can i tell you, it only rained for about 30 minutes the entire day! It started to rain while we were taking bridal party pictures but it was towards the end. Callie asked to take a few pictures with the rain to remember that nothing could stop them!
All of the vendors did a fabulous job at making Callie and Jeff's dream wedding come to life! Yall are amazing! Thank you for showing up with smiles on your faces and throwing the best hurricane party EVER!
All day long, I remember telling Jerico, " this is amazing, this is a miracle wedding!"
Callie and Jeff, your love for one another inspires me. I love that fact that regardless of all the things that went "wrong" you knew that none of that mattered as much as marrying your best friend! We love you guys so much and we will NEVER forget your wedding day.
