B E G I N
My husband recently asked me to do something I NEVER thought I would do- start a blog for our wedding photography business. Immediately, I became nervous and anxious and said "but I don't have anything to talk about". Once those words left my mouth, I was instantly reminded of my new years resolutions: stop complaining & don't say you can't do something.
The wheels start turning.. Do I start with an intro? Should the intro be personal or should it be about the business? Or, should my first blog explain the purpose of this blog? What picture do I attach? How do I even start this blog? Are there rules I have to follow? Are there tags and likes and comments like there are in other social media platforms? Is there a way to know who reads this blog? What if no one reads it?
Two days go by. Not a single word is written. Hours of youtube videos have been watched but, no decisions have been made. I'm laying on the couch scrolling through my Instagram feed (not the best example of time management), I come across this quote,
"Don't worry about the steps. Begin."
This was my "aha" moment and THIS was "blog worthy". It's so simple, yet so hard to do. You know, the hardest part of going to the gym is GOING to the gym. Take that first step, it will be the hardest but you will not regret it!!
If you're reading this, please let me know.. haha, just kidding. If you've been putting something off for quite some time now, no matter what it is, whether it's because you don't have enough time or you're just too tired, I encourage you to just begin. The longer you put it off, the less likely you are to do it.
The first step is done. I'm committed.
[By the way, aren't my son's footprints just the sweetest?]
