JU ENGAGEMENT SESSION | BAILEY + COLTON| JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA

As wedding photographers, we LOOOOVE hearing how our couples met. Bailey and Colton have a very unique and interesting story. I’m sure you have friends that you have set up by other fiends but Colton and Bailey weren't set up by a friend, they were actually set up by a campus administrator at Jacksonville University!!! Yep, you heard right! Bailey was a coordinator for New Student Orientation and the campus administrator that Bailey was working with noticed Colton, who was volunteering and mentioned him to Bailey. The two volunteered a few events together and then had their first official date.

After graduating, Colton commissioned into the Navy and left for training. But before he left, the two got a Siberian Husky named Jax (he’s the cutest!). The 7 months apart wasn’t easy but they both focused on their futures and Jax kept Bailey company.

While they were apart, Bailey was invited for a girl’s weekend with her sorority sisters in Savannah, GA. Colton had arranged with her friends to surprise her down by the river. But, like most important moments in life, things didn’t go quite as expected. Colton’s flight got delayed and Bailey kept insisting on going back to the hotel room because it was getting late. The girls kept delaying her and she was getting a little aggravated.

Picture this: Colton running down the cobblestone road with his suitcase flying up and down. Then, of course, one of the wheels pops off but Colton keeps running towards Bailey, trying to catch up with her. He sees her!!! but she’s still pretty far. Colton then drops his suitcase and runs as fast as possible and hugs Bailey from behind. Bailey is in complete shock and disbelief because he wasn’t supposed to be home for another month!!! He then drops down on one knee and proposes to her! She says YES!!! Talk about a Hallmark Movie moment.

Jerico and I also lived the military life and know how hard it was but we have no doubt in our minds that you two will be even stronger because of it. Colton and Bailey, you are seriously the sweetest couple. Colton, you treat Bailey like the queen she is and I love how you know exactly what to say to make her smile. And Bailey, you complete Colton, you are his rock, his happy place and his everything. The way you support him through his military career is honorable! We thank you both for your service and sacrifice!

We can’t wait to witness you two say your vows to one another and be pronounced husband and wife! Life is about to get soooo much sweeter! See you soon!
